During Riga Festival public transport and parking services will be free of charge
There will be many changes in public transport schedules, given the very wide entertainment programme of the festival. Extra public transport will be launched and routes will be changed, taking into account the location of places where festive events will be held.
The schedules of extra trams, trolleybuses and trams will be available at the company’s website, at public transport terminals, as well as in major public transport stops located in the city centre.

As Spilve airfield will be hosting the Aviation Festival, special bus route „Daugavgrīvas Street – Spilve airfield” will be organised on 18.08.2012 from 10:00 till 20:00 and on 19.08.2012 from 10:00 till 18:00.
Some public transport routes will change from 11:30 till 13:30 of 18.08.2012 due to the closure of Kalpaka Boulevard between K.Valdemāra Street and Elizabetes Street:
- Buses on routes No. 2 and 24 will run to the city centre by the route to Elizabetes Street, then in Elizabetes Street, Brīvības Boulevard, Raiņa Boulevard and further by the route. From the city centre the buses will run by the route to Brīvības Boulevard, then in Brīvības Boulevard, Brīvības Street, Bruņinieku Street, Sporta Street, Skanstes Street, Hanzas Street, Pulkveža Brieža Street and further by the route.
- Buses on route No. 20 will run from Pļavnieki by the route to Bruņinieku Street, then in Bruņinieku Street, Sporta Street, Skanstes Street, Hanzas Street, Pulkveža Brieža Street and further by the route. On the way to Pļavnieki the buses will run by the route to Hanzas Street, then in Hanzas Street, Stabu Street and further by the route.
- Trolleybus route No. 1 will be closed.
- Trolleybuses on route No. 19 will run from terminal „Ziepniekkalns” by the route to Inženieru Street, then in Inženieru Street, Raiņa Boulevard and back. The route from terminal „Pētersalas Street” will be closed.
- Trolleybuses on route No. 24 will run from JSC „Dzintars” by the route to Inženieru Street, then in Inženieru Street, Raiņa Boulevard and back. The route from terminal „Pētersalas Street” will be closed.
- Minibuses on route No. 200 on the way to Vecdaugava will run by the route to Brīvības Boulevard, then in Brīvības Boulevard, Brīvības Street, Bruņinieku Street, Sporta Street, Skanstes Street, Hanzas Street, Pulkveža Brieža Street and further by the route.
On 18.08.2012 and 19.08.2012 the RETRO tram will run according to a temporary schedule.

If traffic across Akmens Bridge will be closed from 22:30 till 23:15 of 19.08.2012, bus route No. 22 will also change. Buses on route No. 22 will run by the route to 13th January Street, then in 13th January Street, on 11th November Embankment, in Krasta Street, across Salu Bridge, in Mūkusalas Street, Akmeņu Street, Valguma Street, Uzvaras Boulevard and further by the route.
